Nature of the service
This site offers a free tool that automatically checks the spelling, grammar and punctuation of texts in English and French. It relies on open source software installed on our server: LanguageTool for English and French, and Grammalecte for French.
The corrections suggested are produced automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. They are neither a professional proofreading nor a certification. Users remain the sole judges of the changes they accept, and the publisher cannot be held responsible for the use made of the corrected texts.
Use of the service
Users agree to submit only texts they have the right to submit. The amount of checking per IP address is limited in order to keep the service available.
The web page and website checking features download the public content of the addresses entered. Users make sure they have the right to do so. The service identifies itself to the sites it visits, respects the usual technical limits and does not bypass any protection.

LanguageTool is distributed under the LGPL license, Grammalecte under the GPL license. They remain the property of their respective authors.
Intellectual property
The texts and code specific to this site are the property of the publisher. Texts submitted for checking remain the property of their authors.
